Supporting good social work practice with carers (open access)

07 Jun 2016 Presenter: Lisa Smith
With 6.5 million carers in the UK looking after someone who is older, disabled or unwell, there is an increasing focus on how to provide support for this unpaid workforce.

This open access webinar describes the new resources commissioned by the Department of Health and developed by RiPfA to support good social work practice with carers. The session also features recordings of carers discussing their experiences and what they need to help them cope with this demanding and often challenging role.

RiPfA has co-produced the materials with a group of carers, along with support from Carers UK and the Carers Trust. They will be available on a dedicated website featuring a range of case studies to enhance understanding of the issues facing carers, as well as practical guidance and tools to use in direct work.

This webinar is open access and free to RiPfA Partners and non-partners alike.

Aimed at: Frontline practitioners, team managers and trainers.
