Mental health law: Risks, rights and responsibilities

This webinar will examine the specific meaning of the concepts of ‘risks’ and ‘rights’ in the mental health context. It will also give an overview of the outcomes of the independent review of the Mental Health Act, due to be published at the end of 2018, and the implications of this review for adult social care practice.  

This Webinar is presented by Alex Ruck Keene, barrister at 39 Essex Chambers. Alex has been involved in cases covering the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Mental Health Act 1983 at all levels up to and including the Supreme Court and the European Court of Human Rights. He is currently the legal adviser to the Independent Review of the Mental Health Act.  
Aimed at: Practitioners and managers in adult social care who work with the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
