About the Knowledge and Skills Statement Mapping Resource
Mapping Research in Practice for Adults learning resources to the Department of Health and Social Care Knowledge and Skills Statement (KSS) for social workers in adult services (published March 2015).
This Mapping Resource is designed to support professional development and enable social workers to meet, and to evidence that they have met, the requirements of the Knowledge and Skills Statement for social workers in adult services. Each statement is quoted below, with key topics and themes highlighted in bold. The full statement can viewed on the Department of Health and Social Care website.
How to use the mapping resource
Assisted and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE): Use Research in Practice for Adults learning resources to enhance particular knowledge and skills and to build an ASYE portfolio.
ASYE programme leads: Use the mapping resource to guide self-directed online learning with colleagues.
Practitioners: Use the map to guide self-directed learning
Supervisors: Guide practitioners to specific learning resources that will support developments identified in supervision.
Principal Social Workers: Plan the use of Research in Practice for Adults materials into development programmes for social care practitioners, social workers and senior practitioners.
