Research on older patients living with frailty in hospital

National Institute of Health ResearchA Comprehensive Care review from the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) brings together 33 published and 20 ongoing studies concerning the concept of frailty in older people. It includes research on what can be done to identify and manage the needs of older people. The review also covers four key aspects of caring for older people living with frailty in hospital, including:

  • assessment;
  • identifying and managing symptoms associated with frailty in hospital;
  • discharge planning;
  • and caring environments.
