Driving culture change to improve adult safeguarding: webinar, Wednesday 4 November 2015

07 October 2015

culture change Join Dr Adi Cooper at our online learning session Wednesday 4 November, 12-1pm. The webinar focuses on safeguarding in light of the Care Act, and how practice is changing, including hearing more about new approaches and innovative examples of best practice.

The Care Act came into force in April 2015, bringing radical changes to adult social care. The guidance on adult safeguarding (Department of Health, October 2014) introduced the making safeguarding personal approach, which has been tested and piloted over previous years. RiPfA has been evaluating this new person-centred and outcome-focused approach to adult safeguarding practice throughout 2014-15. This work is helping to build the evidence base for what is aiding or hindering this culture change in practice.

In this webinar, participants will have the opportunity to hear from others, discuss their experiences of safeguarding and consider what to prioritise in their own areas of work.

Dr Cooper will also run through feedback from those involved in adopting these new approaches, and share some of the Making Safeguarding Personal 2015 evaluation findings. These insights will form the basis for a discussion about how to embed Making Safeguarding Personal in adult safeguarding.

This online learning session is suitable for practitioners and managers involved in safeguarding adults.
