New NICE quality standard to support older people living in their own homes
NICE has published a new quality standard Home care: delivering personal care and practical support to older people living in their own homes.
To help practitioners implement the recommendations, they have produced a tailored resource which explores potential challenges and how to overcome them. This is accompanied by a roundtable report containing feedback from an event held to discuss how the guideline can improve the experiences and outcomes of people who use home care services. The report also provides a template for similar events and discussions in local areas.
Both publications have been developed by the NICE Collaborating Centre for Social Care (NCCSC), a partnership led by SCIE, with Research in Practice for Adults.
