Making Safeguarding Personal – new resource to support joined up development
A new resource intends to support the joined up development of Making Safeguarding Personal across providers and commissioners in health and social care. It also signposts to sources of advice on fundamental principles for safeguarding adults which underpin Making Safeguarding Personal.
The Making Safeguarding Personal: What might ‘good’ look like for health and social care commissioners and providers? resource from the Local Government Association (LGA) is aimed at commissioners and providers across the health and social care sector. These roles play a critical part in safeguarding adults in frontline practice and at a strategic level.
Making Safeguarding Personal sits within the Department of Health’s Care and Support Statutory Guidance. It means safeguarding adults is:
- engages the person and enhances involvement, choice and control;
- improves quality of life, wellbeing and safety.
