CQC announce public engagement strategy

Image: Care Quality Commission (CQC)CQC is aiming to improve the way they engage the public by supporting people to use CQC information about quality of care, and by making better use of their views and experiences. This approach will ensure that CQC is a strong independent regular that is always on the side of people using care services.

Their priorities over the next four years are to:

  1. Work with organisations that represent people who use services to help improve the quality of care.
  2. Encourage people to share their views and experiences of care, improving the way this information is used, and reporting on action taken.
  3. Produce and promote simple, clear and concise information for the public that explains what good care looks like and supports people to make decisions about services.
  4. Improve the way they work by involving and engaging the public in CQC policies, plans and processes.
