Consultation on the refresh of the Professional Capabilities Framework

22 May 2017

Image: BASW logoResearch in Practice/Research in Practice for Adults and the British Association of Social Workers (BASW) are consulting with social workers, people with experience of social work services, educators, employers and others, to carry out an update of the Professional Capabilities Framework (PCF) for social workers in England.

The consultation will gather information to identify how best to refresh the PCF, to ensure that it continues to be a beneficial tool to support the profession.

An online survey offers statements about the PCF and asks for your views on these, as well as your specific ideas and input. It takes about 15 minutes to complete. Comments are anonymous.

The PCF underpins the professional development of social work in England. Developed by social workers, it is an essential element of professional practice. As the custodian of the PCF, BASW has commissioned Research in Practice/Research in Practice for Adults to work in partnership on updating the framework.

Take the survey. Deadline 5pm 9 June 2017.
