Page 1 of 4 This audio publication focuses on the support that parents with learning disabilities sometimes need for them to be the best parents they can and to make sure that their children do well in their care. It explores the challenges many of these parents face and the ways in which professionals can work alongside them to ensure good outcomes for the whole family. In particular it highlights the need for adult and childrens' services to work together. The content includes up to date analysis, research and recommended good practice from experts, researchers and policy-makers. It also includes the knowledge and reflections of parents themselves on what they need to provide the best possible parenting for their children. The contributors will guide you through the principal issues and encourage thinking and questioning. A list of contributors, resources and transcripts are also provided to support the audio publication. This is a joint publication with our sister organisation research in practice. |
