one-to-one

research in practice for adults offers annually 20 hours of one-to-one support time to each Partner agency. There are no strict guidelines as to how this time is used. Here are some examples of one-to-one support project options:

  • scope the evidence and prepare a literature review in certain area of practice or certain intervention that is a priority for the agency
  • assist with developing guidance or training on research methods, deliver workshops on research skill and evidence informed practice locally for staff
  • support an internal evaluation/appraisal process; support a Partner in a process of commissioning/contracting an external evaluator
  • look at other particular learning needs within the Partner agency and deliver individually tailored workshops
  • facilitate a process of knowledge exchange with other local authorities that have experience in certain areas of practice through telephone conferences, online collaboration and others
  • help and support with data collection and statistical analysis of certain monitoring or evaluation initiatives

The above examples are not exclusive and research in practice for adults follows a needs-led approach, exploring with each partner the specific input that is needed locally.
