Provision for Dementia in Extracare Housing PDF Print E-mail

24 November 2009

Watershed, Bristol

The first National Dementia Strategy was launched in February 2009, and one of its key objectives was to explore the role of housing and housing-related support services in supporting people with dementia.

'... Usual high standard of speakers and good research information. Thank you.' (delegate after the event)

At this event, delegates had the opportunity to learn from local experiences of providing Extracare Housing for people with dementia, and explored the evidence from two innovative projects: Neighbourhoods for Life and the Enriched Opportunities Programme. An interactive workshop session in the afternoon enabled participants to share their own experiences and ideas, and contribute to resources which will evolve from the day.
