In May 2009 the research in practice for adults team took a film crew to Birmingham to capture one of our Outcome-based Assessment and Care Plans workshops. This film helps identify ripfa’s hopes and aims for the day and includes feedback from the attendees and the speakers.

The personalisation agenda places an onus on local authorities to ensure that input from users stays central to the change process. What does this mean in practice and how are authorities working with users and user-led organisations? Where and how can users have input? What are the risks and the practical implications? This event explored experience and evidence.

These two-part workshops focused on ensuring that the commissioning process is based on evidence of what is likely to be effective. It built on Think Research, produced by the Cabinet Office and our sister organisation, research in practice. The workshops included the opportunity for delegates to look in detail at their local situations.
These interactive workshops provided an opportunity for delegates to explore practical ways of developing person-centred thinking and planning for older people in their own practice setting, drawing upon real examples and key messages from the report, Practicalities and Possibilities!
