The Centre for Evidence-Based Social Services (CEBSS)

The Centre for Evidence-Based Social Services under its first and only Director, Professor Brian Sheldon, ceased operations on 31st October 2004.

Based at the University of Exeter from 1997 - 2004, and funded by a consortium of local authorities and the Department of Health, the Centre was one of the early pioneers of evidence-based practice, delivering a wide range of services and support to a network of agencies, mostly based in the South-West of England.

CEBSS produced a wide range of training materials, publications and other resources that were made available through their website. As this site is now closed, we are pleased to continue making this material available. In this section of our website, you can view CEBSS reports, newsletters and research skills training modules.
